The name Photography by Audrey Rose is part me part my mom as the name “Rose” is in tribute to my Mom who passed away 2 years ago. It was her middle name and symbolizes the importance of family to me. Prior to two years ago my company went by the name My Puppy Dog Tales which you may have heard of. I changed the name to encompass all the types of photography that I do not just our wonderful pets.
Lifelong Love of Photography
How did I arrive at this place?
I have always loved photography, even as a kid. As my children grew, I purchased my first SLR camera and trained with some notable nature photographers like Art Wolf, John Shaw, and Galen Rowell. It was a hobby that turned into a successful business.
I was blessed to have a gift shop/gallery on Cape Cod for several years, but after four years this California girl was home sick for the north coast of San Diego. So, I came back to Southern California to start my pet photography business. The business quickly grew to include family photography. Today I work with pets, families, and kids. Also, I have realized the dream to work with newborns and babies as well.
“Audrey did a fabulous job with the photo shoot at our home. She took 2 rambunctious under 3- year old children, a 14 year old dog, and a 16 year old cat, and a frazzled mom, and turned the day into a easy, natural, fun time! The result are photographs and a photo book that I will cherish forever, as all are a true reflection of what me, my children and our cherished pets are all about – that special relationship we all have. Thanks Audrey!” – Lynda M.
Let’s Include Your Whole Family in the Photo Shoot
I realized it was the photo sessions in which I brought the whole family together that brought my clients and me the most joy. This revelation, combined with my love for my family, inspired me to shift my focus from pet photography to photography for:
- Engaged couples
- Expectant Parents
- Babies and kids of all ages
- High School Seniors
- Those wonderful grandparents
- Family Reunions or celebrations of any kind

Who I Am beyond Photography
You need to feel at ease with your photographer, so I wanted to give you a little bit more insight into who I am.
I have 3 children and 2 grandchildren, whom I adore.
My sweet, lovable dog Sasha is my heart and my joy. She is a Havanese and a therapy dog. She reminds me everyday how strong the bond is between humans and animals. We visit the VA hospital twice a month and she also warms the hearts of the elderly at several assisted living facilities.
I am a foodie and taught cooking classes for several years on Cape Cod. That was a blast!
I love gardening and flowers too. I guess that goes with the nature thing.
My friends and family would say that I am a fun and funny, kind and caring person who strives to always do her best.
I am funny and lighthearted and my goal is to make sure you have fun during your photo shoot! I love to work with clients who think they are camera shy – it lets me give you the carefree pictures you may have never thought were possible.
Now that you know something about me I hope you will give me the opportunity to get to know you. Give me a call today!
